  • How To Notify Us Of Additonal Issues

  • Problem: Re-sizing
Description: When I re-sizing TextSpy/ScratchPad effects the viewing area is wrong.
Reason: This effect caused by the re-sizing algorythm.
Remedy: This will be remedied in the next release.
Temporary Fix: In TextSpy, re-size again to correct the viewing area; In ScratchPad, adjust the view to see the scrollbars.

  • Problem: SysRes Menu
Description: When I click on the SysRes menu item TextSpy will not display the system resources.
Reason: rsrc32.dll is not installed properly on the same computer.
Remedy: This will be remedied in the next release.
Temporary Fix: There is no temporary fix.

  • Problem: Saving Files:
Description: When I save a file that is a diffrent type (different extension) from the type I am currently spying on, there is no confirmation dialog telling me a file exists, when a file with the same name does exist.
Reason: TextSpy gaurds against overwriting file with the currently viewed extension.
Remedy: This is recognized as a potentially serious proplem and will be fixed in the next release.
Temporary Fix: Make sure you are viewing the same extension type as the file you are saving.

  • Problem: Saving HTML Files in ScratchPad.
Description: When I save a html file in ScrathPad, it gets saved as a htm file.
Reason: ScratchPad treats html and htm files as equivalent file types.
Remedy: This will be fixed in the next release.
Temporary Fix: Save the file in TextSpy, or Change the file type using TextSpy.

  • Problem: Navigation Arrows
Description: Every so often I click on the arrow buttons next to the Select File drive and either nothing happens, or when a folder oppens on a different drive the drive dosn't change.
Reason: The Naviagtion Arrows will take you to the last folder you actually viewed a file from. When you have viewed several files in one folder, the navigation keeps you in the same folder. When the last file you viewed was on a different drive, the navigation takes you to that drive - but the Select File drive list remains showing the drive you just left.
Remedy: This is being worked on as a medium priority. The fix will be released as an update.
Temporary Fix: Selecting a drive from the Select File drive list will re-establish a link between the drive and folder lists.

  • Problem: WinZip Extraction of Software
Description: I couldn't extract TextSpy. I get the same error message: "Could not create C:\Temporary\E: - aborting extract"
Reason: This issue is currently under review. We are trying to discover the cause right now.
Remedy: This is being worked on as a high priority. For the fix, we will be posting a new copy of the Zip File this week, that we hope will alleviate this problem. April 23, 2000
Temporary Fix: Download a copy of PK-Zip to extract the file with. We know for a fact that PK-Zip will extract the software properly.
